Using face oils may seem a little complicated as often they have a bad rap for causing acne or making your skin look too shiny. Fear no more – it’s all about applying it the right way!
– Dab or pat oil into your skin –
Do not rub the oil into your skin like you usually do with moisturizer. Instead, dab or pat the oils, pushing them into your pores, rather than just sliding them around on the skin’s surface. This will help your skin absorb the oil and make use of its benefits much quicker.
– Only a few drops are needed –
Do not over do it. Face oils contain very concentrated amounts of nutrients. A few little drops will do the work. One to three drops of your choice of oil is enough to cover your whole face and deliver the benefits your skin needs.
– It should be the last thing you apply to your skin. –
Before your SPF, obviously. Apply your skincare products from the lightest to the heaviest. We all know this rule, but sometimes we don’t know which product is heavier in reality. If your are using the serum which mainly contains oils, this is not the true water based serum and your should use it
– Morning or evening usage? –
This topic is highly debated but we’d say ‘both’! Using the face oil in the evening routine is perfect, because the skin will take the most of it while resting. In the morning we advise using modest amount of oil in the morning not to interfere with your SPF filter. Also we love using oil in the daytime because it is handy using it with your make-up and really makes it flawless. (Check our post about face oil + make-up)
